Students in Grades P, 1, and 2 have been working on cooperative games and movement skills. They have been practicing sending objects such as beanbags, balls and scarves with an underhand throwing motion. They have also been learning the basic skills of soccer by kicking to a target, through a target, and hitting a target (partner). Students have also practiced receiving objects by catching with their hands and trapping with their feet.
Students in Grades 3, 4, 5, and 6 have been working on cooperative games, safely completing activity specific warm-ups, and reflecting on previous activities that help with the activity they are doing now. Students are now practicing the soccer skills of dribbling, passing, trapping, and kicking.They are applying the correct terminology, basic rules, and guidelines around the sport of soccer.
